Beauty Secrets? I really need some beauty secrets. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have brown hair and brown eyes. I need to make a dramatic impact on my face and hair style but i dont know what to do. I always wear my hair down straight but i need to spruce it up because im going out on a date with this new guy i met tomorrow night.

I know it sounds weird and gross haha but if you run the olive oil through your hair (concentrating it on the ends) and leave it for an hour (or overnight), and then wash it out, your hair will be extra soft! So, what are YOUR best beauty secrets? I have tons of beauty tips up my sleeve, and I'm always looking for new ones. So, what are yours? The most helpful secrets will get best answer! Star this question! When it's resolved, I'll post a ton. I already knew every single one of these tips, but ok. here are mine: -For shinier hair, when you condition your har, make your last rinse cold! The shine happens because rinsing with cold water closes the cuticle. -Top make-up artists love this trick. If you have a zit, before you put on concealer/foundation, put on a TINY DOT of green eyehsadow! This works because green cancels out red. But, you must do a very very tiny bit of green, otherwise you'll look like the Hulk! -If you have an inflamed pimple...red and nasty...use Visine. A lil squirt on your pimple will do wonders. -Use moisterizer on your face every night. No exception. Even if you have oily skin like myself. Your skin produces oil to compensate for lack of moisture. By appropriately hydrating your face your skin will cease over production of oil which is the #1 cause of breakout (clogged pores) (ill put more h.o) -Use vaseline on your lips then brush over them, with a toothbrush, to remove the dead skin. If you do this religiously EVERY night you will never have chapped lips again! -For me, inexpensive hair conditioner form the drugstore works as a better shaving cream than actual shaving foam (i.e, skintimate) - Get your nails done at least once a month. Even if you don't get a color or just get clear get them shaped up and stuff. Go to a nail salon a get a manicure and pedicure. This is the best way for you nails to be healthy! -Don't buff your nails yourself often. If you buff them too much they start to hurt. -Drink lots of milk. The best way to get healthy looking nails is to drink lots of milk!! -Paint your nails! Treat them with respect and paint them your favorite color! -Try not to wear too much makeup. Boys like girls that are NOT obsesed with makeup! And it look way better when a girl has makeup that looks natural! -NEVER BITE YOUR NAILS! Not only does it look unattractive, but when you have an itch, you might cut yourself if they're sharp! Let's just say I had a bad experience in the 2nd grade. -No polish, is better than chipped polish. If your nails have absolutely nothing on them, it looks cleaner/neater than chipped polish. Chipped polish basically screams 8 YEAR OLD! I reccomend just doing a touch-up if it's a small chip. (If you're around that age range, I'm sorry; but hey; now you'll have better lookin' nails than your friends, hehe) -Bright Pink nail polish & other flashy colors (like orange!) are so in for this summer! Just be sure to choose the colors according to your skin tone. You're either cool, or warm. Cool has pink undertones, and warm has more orange-y undertones. Here's an easy way to find which you are. Take a silver & Gold chain and put it to your skin. Which has moe contrast? The silver, or gold? If silver, you're cool. If gold, you're warm. Back to the nail polish, if you're cool, like me; pink will accentuate your skin best. If you're warm, orange will compliment your skin better. -If you get a mani, buy a bottle of the color you got for touch-ups. -There is one nail shape that suites everyone, and that is the squoval. It's basicaly a squared-off oval. -For dramatic looking nails, go dark. Pale skin: Fire engine red Medium: skin: Blood-red or Burgundy Dark Skin: Garnet or Eggplant -Try to always have your toes painted! Even in the winter. If you have a splash of tangerine or pink can be positively uplifting in those cold months! -Here are some tips for doing an at-home mani: -Don't shake the bottle, it can cause tiny air bubbles to form. Instead, roll it back and forth in your palms. -If your hands are too shaky, rest your pinky on a non-movable onject, like a counter. And your pinky isin't doing anything anyway. -Be careful with your nails for about 2 hours. That's right, 2 hours. It takes 10 min to set, about 45 min untill you can use your hands for anything other than gestures (although I break this rule a lot!). Nails will still be soft enough to schuff for up to 3 hours! If you simply don't have that patience, consider buying a nail dryer. -As for the actual manicure, remember, SSP. Shape, soften, and polish. ~Shape: Remove polish from nails. Cut straight acorss untill you reach the desired length, then with a nail file, round off the corners to make a "squoval" shape. ~Soften: Rub oil or moisturizer into cuticles. Soak hands in a bowl of warm water with a splash of olive oil or milk, not soap, which can be drying to your nails. After 3 min, blot water from hands, and gently push back cuticles with an orange stick, a cuticle pusher, or damp washcloth! Wipe oils from nails with polish remover. ~Polish: Brush basecoat (clear) on nails in the center from bottom to tip in one even stroke. Repeat on both sides. Then, apply the color, and paint it on in 3 quick stripes, but not quick enough that you mess up. Wait 2 minutes, then apply another coat of color. Seal polish with a top coat. -If you have crooked teeth, get braces. It is the best investment you'll ever make. And the couple days of pain you'll get in-between tighteneings will all be worth it when you have straight teeth. -If you have braces, make em look nice! Get pretty colors! If you have gorgeous blue eyes, get blue! If you're known for always wearing pink, get pink to match! Or, get red + green for X-mas! The possibilities are endless these days. -Don't even think about trying to whiten your teeth while you have braces. You'll be left with white spots from braces when they're off! -Don't have braces? Alright then. There's a product called NatureWhite that contains carbamide peroxide and it's supposed to whiten your teeth dramatically with just one 45 Minute application. It is said to be the same thing that dentists use and that dentists use a 12% solution while NatureWhite uses a 22% solution. Crest white strips, by comparison, have a 3% solution. I've heard good things about it, but I have braces now, so I wouldn't try yet. -Chewing on crunchy foods like carrots, apples and celery, is said to cause friction which helps get debris off your teeth that can stain them. There are many old natural remedies and some new natural and/or herbal products, as well as, some chemical products, all claiming to whiten teeth. I find when I chew on these foods, my teeth look kinda whiter. -Strawberries, oddly enough are said to have cleansing and bleaching properties that can help remove of tea and coffee stains, especially from dentures. Crush the strawberries gently and rub the pulp onto your teeth. Rinse with water. -If you want the best results, get Zoom at a dentists office. It costs $500-$675. Although it's pricey, it's worth it. -If you must have coffee/tea, use a straw and put it PAST your teeth. Your teeth will thank you! -If this is the only tip you take from this, then let it be. EVERY SINGLE DAY put on an SPF 15 (at the least!) sunscreen on your face. The suns rays are stronger than ever now, and if you don't start protecting early, you'll have wrinkles! Put it on even if you're walking acorss the screen. UV rays shine even when it's cloudy. If you're going to be outside for 1 hour+, put SPF30 all over your body, and reapply every 2 hours. If you're worried about tno getting tan, I'll cover that later. If you start now (depending on how old you are) you'll have gorgeous skin in your 60's! My mom is 47, she sunbathed untill her 20's; then started putting on sunscreen every day; and now people still think shes 28! -I don't know how old you are, but if you're still in school, I doubt you need foundation. Foundation looks cakey and artifical! Guys really don't like fake-looking girls with a mask on. -Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! Even the best make-up will look bad if skin is dry, dull or flaky. Whether it's home peels or grainy scrubs, skin will be naturall more radiant. -Change your pillowcase every week to prevent breakouts. -Your skincare regimen should consist of "Cleanse, Tone. and Moisturize" Clinique is a great brand and has something for everyone. -NEVER go to sleep with make-up on. You'll wake up looking horrible, and maybe a couple of zits too. That's not good. -There's a moisturizer for everyone. if your face is oily, get an oil-free moisturizer, or even gel. If your face is dry, you might need a thicker cream. If you have combo skin, you might need both! -For moisturzier, a blob about the size of a pea is most definitly enough. -Eye creams are not necessary unless it's for wrinkles. You can use the same moisturizer for you face, unless it says otherwise. Thats all I can think of for now!! I have so many more. E-mail me if you need specifics on anything!! <3

What are your beauty rituals and secrets? What are some things you do to treat yourself? Do you have a skin routine to help with your face and body? Certain makeup you can't live without? Since we're sharing here's mine: Daily - I use a kit called "Makeup Optional" by Philosophy that's for congested skin. I love it and it's gotten my face looking great so I don't have to wear makeup so much. I mix salt with my cleanser to exfoliate. Other things I do is wash my hair every other day with Ojon shampoo and conditioner. Of course I moisturize my body every day with different scented lotions. Whenever I use makeup I tend to use Stila foundation and eyeshadow because it's natural but lovely looking. For lashes I love Imju Fiberwig mascara. Product brands that are great are: Urban Decay, Benefit, Philosophy, Stila, NARS, Laura Mercier, DuWop, Ojon, Oscar Blandi, etc. Weekly - I deep condition my hair with a mask made of olive oil mixed with chocolate syrup--crazy but it softens. For my face I use Philosophy peels. For my hands and feet I saturate them in Vaseline and put baggies over them for a few hours. Above all exercise and a good diet are best. :D

Beauty Secrets! ♥ ♥? we all deserve to look beautiful! let's all share some of our best secrets! i will go first : 1. lemons lightens patchy skin tone and freckles! 2. use mouthwash each day to have great breath! 3. sea salt and water mixed together make your hair curly so you can mix them together in a old purfume bottle and spray some of that in your hair and scrunch it and your hair is gorgeous! 4. toothpaste helps bring down the swelling of mosquitoe bites or pimples. 5. eye drops temporarily reduce the redness of pimples.

Go on share :-) Well for me the best thing is to drink alot of water,i just started and i can see my skin looks much better...didnt believe it but works,also as for face washs,id say the best is to buy johnsons face wash....its gentle and suitable for all skin types....wouldnt waste money on expensive face washs such as clearsil....doesnt do anything,makes it worse infact! also having baths helps make your skin clear,buying face masks...such as apricot! works for me,i have less spots ;-)

I take honey, coffee grains, a little lemon juice, half a spoon of plain non-fat yogurt mix it all together, and its the best body scrub I have ever used...and I have used it for 2 years, once a week, and I have such soft clear skin. On my face, I remove my makeup with baby wipes...and only wash with cool water. And I have really clear skin on my face. Soup only makes me brakeout even more. What are your secrets?
