  1. ok huni lets start with the basics im not preteen as i dont thing a 12 year old can tell you how to do your make up i am 22 but i have been to my prom tho i certaintly wasnt queen. i know i looked good at the time. ok so here is my tips firstly the dress get one in a colour that suits you...ie black is slimming(but try and get it to have some detail on it so that it looks fashionable rather than boring) or if you have blue eyes a blue dress will accent them same with brown. if you are very femminine then a pink can look nice but u will need the right shade(you can email me if you want to discuss more) then next is accessorise. firstly you will want to loko elegant not chep.(ie legs/clevage not both on show else ul look like a tart) i imagine it will be a longish dress wil straps? if you choose blue/green then silver or white gold jewlry looks very sophisticated. Try and wear earings that are long but only if they look nice (ask your mum/older sis for ideas i would say not more than 1inch in length buy a necklace which has some of the colour you are wearing in but not all solid colour this tends to look nicer. shoes should match the dress but do not need to be a block colour and should have a heel ie a black and white shoe is nice with a black dress or a white dress etc. if you choose to wear different coloured shoes then try and get the accessories you wear to be the same as the shoes so you can have red shoes and bag and belt/earings but not ness a red dress you do not want to be over the top. it will be cold outside so buy a small shawl for your shoulders. for make up at the moment subtle is good. so go for a shimmery brown eye shadow foundation to match your complextion(ie test on hand before u buy and when you do your blush do it gently with a large brush (you may find a bronzer is more natrual than blush.) use a simple eye liner and mascara and finish with a lip gloss rather than lipstick you can then re apply when you feel like. and wont worry its on your teeth!!! ps when i say shawl i mean more like a thin band to go around your shoulders not a big massive old granny one!!!! good luck hope u look beautiful and if you need more tips for your complextion make up wise ppl will need a picture to see what would suit you.
  2. I would wear a black prom dress, just below the knee if you are short or average height, and floor length if your tall. Black is best because it's slimming and hides any lumps or bumps you want to keep hidden. Team it with some sprakly jewellery with lots of diamentes. If you want to wear big (or long) earrings either wear no necklace or a dainty one, so it doesnt look to much. DEFINITELY wear a bracelet. If you feel your arms are chunky wear a thin sparkly bracelet. If you are lucky enough to have slender toned arms you can get away with wearing something more chunky. If you are tall or average height, you can get away with wearing round toe shoes. If you have a fifties style dress, which is very flattering, you will need some 50's style shoes to go with it which are normally, roundish toes. If you are short wear a shoe with a pointed toe as this elongates the legs. Makesure, the heel is not chunky. go for stilletto style. If you do decide to wear a fifties style dress you can also wear a lovely Audrey Hepburn style hair do. Which is very flattering. If you wear a tradtitional prom dress, you can get away with wearing your hair down, maybe with some loose curls. MY ADVICE TO YOU IS NEVER EVER GET YOUR HAIR CUT OR COLOURED THE DAY BEFORE A BIG EVENT!! It's a well known fact. It will never look the way you pictured it. Get it done a week before atleast so you can adapt to the new colour or cut and can get to grips with styling it. If you prefer your hair down i would definitely advise doing somthing a bit different i.e loose curls or half up half down. If you have fair eyes (blue, green etc)wear a brown eye shadow. Before you apply the brown add a layer of light eye shadow (cream tones) all over the eye lid and up to the brow. then, with an eye shadow brush apply the dark brown colour to the creases of the eye lid. The best way to do is with the eye open. then close the lid and blend up to the mid section of the lid. with the remaining brown colour on the brush line the bottom of the eyes. If you have brown eyes you can wear much lighter colours, lilacs look good! for the application, see above...still use the cream colour as a "base" but apply the lilac as above. Please see the link attached for smokey eyes. There are lots of other videos on makeup too so have a look around. Practice your makeup when you can before prom and try different things to see what look you like I hope this helps.
